About Us

We aim to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which children can gain the skills and knowledge necessary for them to become effective and independent life-long learners. We want the children to develop as confident, open-minded, questioning and adaptable young people.

We believe that we can best achieve this by striving towards the following key aims:

  • To respond, recognise and value everyone’s needs and contributions.
  • To provide equal opportunities for all, to foster respect for and understanding of the differences between individuals and communities and to celebrate the individuality of each person and the diversity of the school community.
  • To achieve high standards in children’s learning by teaching children to be self-motivated and to take an active role in their learning journey.
  • To provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which allows children to develop intellectually, aesthetically, creatively and physically, actively encouraging participation in a wide range of after-school activities.
  • To create a relevant, stimulating and challenging learning environment in our school.
  • To show the children how to live in a safe way and to develop good social skills and a tolerance of one another. To develop an awareness of their role in the wider world.
  • To create an environment in which children feel safe, secure and happy, in which they are listened to and in which their views are respected.
  • To work in close partnership with parents and carers. To maintain effective communication with parents and carers, and to provide support for children and families, especially in times of difficulty.
  • That governors are committed to their responsibilities and to the further development of the school.
