Geography is more than just finding your way from one place to another. At Monks Orchard we strive to provide opportunities to broaden children’s horizons, and to nurture a love for the world around them. In KS1, Children will begin to learn about different places, the continents and countries as well as the oceans and rivers on our planet. In KS2, the geography curriculum builds and expands on this previous knowledge to ensure that children have a solid understanding of the skills that they will need, to make them able geographers. Children are immersed in a curriculum which is engaging, stimulating and breathes life into geography so that it will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Through school trips, visits, and practical lessons, geography will involve many transferable skills, such as research, observation, comparisons, measurement and recording.
