Pupil Book Recommendations

The Highway Rat – Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

Adrian likes this book because the evil highway rat was taught a lesson by a duck who helped those he robbed in the highway.

The Boy Who Switched Off the Sun – Paul Brown

Adrian likes this book as it's about space and it illustrates how to build a space rocket.

Zog and the Flying Doctors - Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

Adrian likes this book because of the illustrations and how the story is about helping sick people.

Look Inside Your Body - Usborne

I like this book because you get to learn about your body parts. (Amara Y3)

Percy Jackson & the Olympians series - Rick Riordan

Here is a picture of Chi-Ying and her favourite book/books (She couldn’t decide but in the end the one she is holding is her favourite out of the whole series!) - The Titans Curse

I love Greek Mythology and there are lots of monsters and quests in these books.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians series - Rick Riordan

The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief is a good book to read because it is about Greek Gods and mythical creatures. It's a good adventure with lots of sword fights. (Dylan)

Harry Potter series - J. K. Rowling

I like them because the magic is interesting and it's very imaginative. It's funny how Voldemort cares for Harry's education because he always waits till the end of the book before trying to kill Harry and never succeeding. He tries and eventually he gets killed by Harry. Also I've read almost all the Harry Potter books twice. I’m nearly done with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for the second time around.

Dork Diaries: Spectacular Superstar -  Rachel Renee Russell

A few of the reasons that I love this book are:

Because it is really funny.

There is a lot of description to describe the characters and other things in the book.

The characters are all different and they always figure out a way to solve problems (even though an even bigger problem comes up next…)

My favourite character in this book is probably Nikki Maxwell because she is extremely talented, kind and funny. Another one of my favourite characters is Mackenzie Hollister as she is really pretty and she always tries to get her own way which doesn’t turn out quite as she wanted it so she gets very mad! And everything that she does makes Nikki’s life even worse but Nikki always finds a solution for her problems

The 20th Century Art Book - Phaidon

I like The 20th Century Art Book because it has lots of cool pictures in it by lots of different people. My favourites are The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago, Rat King by Katharina Fritsch and Rest by Franz West. (Oscar R)

The Person Controller - David Baddiel

I would recommend the Person Controller by David Baddiel, because it’s really fun and the controller makes very exciting things happen for the children that use it.
