1:1 Special Needs Assistant (Fixed-Term)

Overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and reliable person to join the team at Fairchildes Primary School as a 1:1 Special Needs Assistant.

The role will involve providing 1:1 support for a child within our Enhanced Learning Provision who has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will work closely with the staff within the provision to support the child’s individual needs and help them to access learning and enjoy a positive and successful experience at school.


Experience of working with children with special educational needs would be useful, although we are also looking for someone with the right qualities, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting our children.

Job Details

Hours: 17.5 hours per week - 12:00pm-3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract Type: Fixed term until 16th October 2026 (with the possibility of extension)

Salary: NJC Grade 3, Scale Point 5
