Fairchildes Primary School is proud to be an Outstanding school at the heart of the community of New Addington on the outskirts of Croydon. We are excited to be expanding our highly successful nursery provision to welcome 2-year-olds from September 2025 – and we are looking for a passionate Early Years Assistant to join us on this journey.

About the Role:

As a key member of our Early Years team, you will support the learning, development, and care of our youngest children. You’ll play a central role in creating a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment where every child can thrive.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic and reliable individual who has a genuine passion for working with young children. You don’t need to hold formal childcare qualifications — what matters most is your commitment to creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

If you are currently working towards, or interested in pursuing, an NVQ or similar qualification in childcare, we would view this positively and offer support. Previous experience working with children, either in a voluntary or paid capacity, is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well as part of a team are key.

Fairchildes Primary School is part of the FACT Trust, a small Croydon-based multi-academy trust with inclusion at its heart. We are committed to being an inclusive employer and to building a diverse workforce where all staff feel valued, respected, and supported to thrive. As part of the Trust, you will benefit from the sharing and development of best practice across schools, with excellent opportunities for professional growth and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the success of the wider Trust community.

Fairchildes Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all staff and volunteers are expected to share in this commitment as part of our safer recruitment process.
