Letter to Parents 11.2.22
Once again many thanks for your support of our school over the last term.
All being well we will leave the bubbles behind after half term; the children will once again be able to mix with one another in assemblies and at playtimes, and we look forward to welcoming you into the classrooms from 8.45 until 9am each morning.
Parents’ evenings take place on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the half term. If you haven’t already booked your slot you can contact your child’s class teacher via email. (Please put the year group first and follow it with @fairchildes.croydon.sch.uk eg firstname.lastname@example.org)
If you are having a clear-out during the half term, and you have some uniform that your children have grown out of, please would you consider donating it to us. As you know we run a Pre-Loved Uniform Shop with each item costing 50p. The shop is very well used. All takings from the shop is set aside to help our families. At the moment we are really in need of uniform to fit the children in our juniors.
The week beginning 28th March is our book week. There will be lots of activities for the children to do during that week including Thursday 3rd March which is World Book Day. On that day the children can dress up as their favourite character from a book. Please don’t spend lots of money on buying a costume, it is always great to see costumes that the children have put together themselves. Also on that day we will have a visiting book shop! (More information to follow)
We are hoping that this year’s Upper School Talent Show will go ahead. Our theme is Rock Music. Auditions will be held at lunchtimes during the first week after the holidays. Audition pieces, including the backing track for the singing audition can be found on Google Classroom.
During half term it would be a great help if the children kept up their daily reading using Oxford Buddies, their spelling using Spelling Frame, and for year 2-6 ,their times tables using Times Tables Rockstars. That way when they return to school in a week they will be ready to work.
Free School Meals:
If you think that your child might be eligible for free school meals please apply using the following link: https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/ As well as ensuring that your child gets a free school meal, it also means that you will be eligible for vouchers to cover the holiday periods and which are continuing at least until after the summer holidays, as well as benefitting the school.
As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. email@example.com
I hope that you are able to enjoy a good half term break and we will see you on Monday 21st February.
