Letter to Parents 10.11.20
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you are all well.
Covid updates and Google Classroom.
Thank you for keeping us informed about any covid symptoms that you or your child might have, and any contact with people testing positive; this really helps us. If you, or anybody else in your household has had a covid test, your child needs to stay at home until you have the results. If you are unsure of what to do, please don’t come up to school, instead call us on 01689842268.
All children have access to Google Classroom, this is up and running for you to follow at home from the first day that a child isolates. If you are struggling to access this at home, please let us know. We have a small number of laptops that we can lend out should your child need a device to work on whilst isolating.
All information is now sent out to you on Weduc, unless you have told us otherwise. Please check it regularly especially if you haven’t set your app to notify you of new information. If you are struggling with it, or don’t think that it is working properly, please contact us and we will do all we can to help.
When children are together in large groups there are bound to be arguments and upsets. If you have any concerns about incidents that have happened in school, as a first point of call, please come and see us, or ring the school to speak to your child’s teacher, to myself, Miss Byers, or a member of the pastoral team. We will always listen to you and always speak to the children involved. Please don’t take it into your own hands; please don’t approach the child yourself, and unless you know the child’s parents well, please don’t go to their house. Such actions often lead to upset much bigger than the initial incident, and possible repercussions outside of school that we have no control over.
Bags for School
If you have been having a clear out please could you donate any clothes, shoes, bags, bedding etc to us as part of our bags for school collection? You can drop your bag outside of school next to the main gate, on the morning of 18th November, the van will collect from that point.
As you know we are not holding regular parents’ evenings at the moment, instead your child will receive a short written report telling you about their behaviour and progress in maths and literacy (years 1-6), and how they have settled in (Nursery and Reception). If you would like to discuss the report further, there is an email address at the bottom of the report which you can use to contact your child’s teacher to arrange a phone or zoom call. Your child will bring his/her report home tomorrow.
Finally, can I remind you that all Christmas cards should be brought to school on Friday 11th December. We will post a list of the first names of the children in your child’s class on Weduc later this week to help you with this.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me firstname.lastname@example.org
