‘Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.’
Early Years Foundation stage Profile – (Department for Children, Schools and Families 2012)
At Fairchildes Nursery we put our children first. We have an enthusiastic and caring team. We are extremely committed to ensuring that children can be children and have fun and are nurtured, happy and well cared for. This is displayed in the positive, friendly relationships seen throughout our nursery. This creates the foundation for a positive attitude to education which follows our children through the school.
Our environment is vibrant, secure and very well resourced, both inside and out. It provides the children with a variety of exciting activities and many opportunities to learn through play.
Our outside area is impressive and vast. We organise Forest School activities in the woodland area where the children problem solve and explore their natural environment. Vegetable plots in the garden allow the children to experience growing plants and vegetables from seed.
We provide the scope for children to enjoy and excel in physical activities.
Both the inside and outside learning environments are available at all times and children are encouraged to make their own choices as to where to work and play.
We promote and develop independence and decision making skills by allowing children the freedom to choose from many activities e.g. our café. Our café has a variety of snacks and drinks and encourages the children to make independent healthy choices.
