Free School Meal Voucher Update - 14/01/2021
Free School Meal Voucher
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Government has announced that from 18 January 2021, children receiving benefits-related free school meals will be sent a £15 voucher per week. The voucher will be sent by email, by the Government’s provider, Edenred. Vouchers will be sent every 2 weeks as soon as the system will allow us to place the order.
I have checked the list provided by Croydon Council, and will ensure that parents who are already registered for benefits-related free school meals will receive their vouchers automatically.
We cannot print vouchers. The voucher will be sent to the email address we have on our information system (SIMS). If your email address has changed recently, please let us know by emailing email@example.com .
All children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 receive a free lunch, but this is through a different scheme called Universal Infant Free School Meals. These children WILL NOT qualify for the vouchers unless you have made an application to the council directly.
If you are unsure if you qualify please go to: https://www.croydon.gov.uk/education/schools-new/free-school-meals
Here you will find the qualification criteria, as well as instructions for making an application. The school cannot make the application for you, or add children to the list. This is only done by Croydon Council, so you must follow their guidance and application process. If your application is successful, the Council will let the school know and you will then receive the vouchers.
Further details about the vouchers and how to use them will only be sent to children on the list provided by Croydon Council. If your circumstances have changed or you have not checked if you qualify, it is vital that you contact Croydon Council, as soon as possible, so there is not a delay in receiving your vouchers. If you have any questions about whether or not you qualify, please contact Croydon Council first.
If you need any further help please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Take care and stay safe,
